The Shoot For The Stars community event was created to bring the community together, to celebrate life, remember those we have lost, and focus on heart health in youth and teens. This event started the spring after Alex passed away. That event brought the community of Argyle together in a 24 hour marathon of free throw shooting in the Argyle High School gym.  The following year his parents decided to continue this event by hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Alex's favorite sport was basketball. Since the basketball tournament, this event has grown into a community festival that consists of live concerts, vendors, guest speakers, basketball tournaments, bike/run, and free heart screenings. All of the proceeds made at the event are collected and put into the Alex Betzhold Memorial Fund which helps give back to our community in many ways. The fund provides Senior scholarships as well as funding various projects within the Argyle Community. Recently a basketball court was installed by the tennis courts on the Argyle High School campus. This court gives students and the community the opportunity to come together and play basketball. This court is fully funded by the Alex Betzhold Memorial Fund via the close knit community of Argyle, TX.
